In short, ox racing is one of the oldest sports that are mostly held in the Southern part of the country during the post-harvest season. In this event, some pairs of oxen will be running down from the initial point to the finishing tacked by the trained farmer so that they may control their oxen easily without letting the racing area dangerous for the people taking part in the event. The oxen who will be winning the race will be rewarded by the chief guest and VIPs attending the Gangotsav program as a tribute to their hard work.
